Description of Course:

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Initial Classroom Video-based Instructor-Led course strives to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. This course covers a series of video and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systemic approach to pediatric assessment, Basic Life Support (BLS), PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics. The recognition and intervention of respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest. 2020 AHA Guidelines. 

We provide CPR Training Services for:

Healthcare Professionals such as physicians, medical students, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, paramedics, EMT’s, First Responder firefighters, police officers, and other allied health personnel including personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Requirements prior to course:
All participants MUST take the mandatory PALS PreCourse Self-Assessment and PreCourse Work (Video Lessons) Online with American Heart Association before taking the PALS course. This reveals a student’s knowledge before the course to evaluate their proficiency and determine the need for additional review and practice in three sections: rhythm recognition, pharmacology, and practical application. The student must complete the PreCourse Self-Assessment and achieve a score of 70% or higher before taking the PALS course. There is not a limit on how many times you can take the PreCourse Self-Assessment and PreCourse Work (Video Lessons). Please bring a printed copy of your sucessful completion certificate to class with you on the date of your PALS course. If no printed certificate is available, class will be rescheduled for a later date and time. The PALS PreCourse Work involves a student reviewing course content through online videos before entering the classroom. The video lessons cover multiple medical subjects and each lesson includes questions to engage the student. The PreCourse Work allows more classroom time for hands-on skills training and leads to the student being better prepared to participate as soon as they enter the classroom.

PALS PreCourse Self-Assessment and PreCourse Work (Video Lessons) Online
Online Course: 3.5 Hours | AHA CE/CME’S: 2.5 Hours 

Course Length: 12-14 Hours

PALS Provider (Initial) Course is a two day Classroom Instructor-Led Training Course that includes all required lessons and skills practice set forth by the American Heart Association for a First Timer or a Healthcare Provider that needs a little extra practice.   

Students MUST pass a Written Exam (84%) and Skills Testing in order to qualify for an Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course Completion eCard by the American Heart Association. New 2020 Guidelines by American Heart Association, students may use the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Student Manual while taking the Written Examination.

Upon successful completion of the course with the American Heart Association 2020 Guidelines, the student will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course Completion eCard. PALS Course Completion eCard is valid for 2 years. 

Book:
American Heart Association requires all students to have a PALS Provider Student Manual or eBook to study before, during, and after the class. Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider (PALS) Student Manual or eBook is required for class. Each student must have own copy of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Student Manual or eBook for class. No sharing of student manual or eBook.
