HeartCode ASLS Blended Learning: The Advanced Stroke Life Support was created by the American Heart Association and The Gordon Center for Simulation and Innovation in Medical Education, University of Miami partnership to reduce deaths and disabilities of stroke patients.
We provide CPR Training Services for:
HeartCode ASLS is designed to educate Healthcare Professional on the identification, evaluation, and management of patients with stroke. Healthcare providers who care for patients with stroke or work in settings with patients who are at risk for stroke including Stroke Coordinators, Physicians in training and practice, Medical Students, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Nurse Students, Residents, Fellows, Paramedics and Emergency Medical Personnel, Respiratory Therapists. Students are eligible for Continue Education Credits by the American Heart Association and the Gordon Center for Simulation and Innovation in Medical Education, University of Miami. The American Heart Association is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Contnuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center(ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. ASLS – Advanced Stroke Life Support In- Hospital Provider Course consists of two parts:
Part 1: HeartCode ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support) In- Hospital Provider Online Course in a Blended eLearning and is combined with self-directed Online Training with American Heart Association and Instructor- Led Classroom Hands-On In-Person Skills Session Testing with CPR Heart of Angels, LLC. Please note: Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) Provider eBook is included with online course. You do not need to purchase ASLS eBook separately. Heartcode ASLS Blended eLearning Online Course covers the cognitive portion. This convenient internet-based program will allow the student to train at their own pace, anytime, anywhere with internet access. After completing the Blended eLearning component, the student will attend a structured Instructor-Led HeartCode ASLS Hands-On In-Person Skills Session Testing with an American Heart Association Instructor at CPR Heart of Angels, LLC.

At the completion of the ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support) Blended eLearning Online Part 1 Course, the learner will be able too: describe why early treatment of stroke may result in a marked reduction in risk of disability, identify the 5 Main stroke syndromes and relate them to pathophysiology and clinical signs, perform a focused evaluation to identify stroke and its location and assess its severity, define the initial management of patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, describe the principles of prehospital stroke management that make up the current standard of care, determine when to call a stroke alert and quickly transport the patient to the nearest appropriate facility, communicate the patient’s symptoms, time of onset, and neurologic exam clearly and succinctly with hospital personnel, define the priorities for the stroke patient during interfacility transport, explain importance of an organized approach to treating stroke patients for improved patient outcomes, describe the management goals for acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage, outline post-acute care management supportive medical care, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for stroke patients, and discuss the etiologies evaluation and secondary stroke prevention for stroke patients.
Part 2: HeartCode ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support) In- Hospital Provider Hands-On In-Person Skills Sessions Testing.
You must have successfully completed HeartCode ASLS In- Hospital Provider Online Blended eLearning Course and provide a valid Course Completion Certificate. The ASLS Hands-On In-Person Skills Session tests challenge learners to apply the knowledge obtained from the online portion to correctly perform neurological exams, diagnose, and manage patients with stroke. Please bring a printed copy of your AHA Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) In- Hospital Provider Online Course Completion Certificate to class with you. CPR Heart of Angels, LLC only accepts and recognize American Heart Association (AHA) certificates. Instructor will verify your ASLS Provider Online Course Completion Certificate with the American Heart Association before starting the HeartCode ASLS Hands-On In-Person Skills Session Testing. If no certificate available, you will need to reschedule your class for a later time and date.

Upon successful completion of the HeartCode Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) In- Hospital Provider Online Blended eLearning Course and Hands-On In-Person Skills Session Testing with the American Heart Association, the student will receive an American Heart Association Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) In- Hospital Provider Course Completion eCard that is valid for 2 years.
